Educating the people in Maiduguri, Borno State, about the importance of girl-child education

The Sirri Care Foundation educated its people in Maiduguri, Borno State, about the importance of girl-child education and the roles of parents in the classroom.
Education is a powerful tool that impacts the life of an individual. It is a means to improve knowledge and skills. Education is what informs us about the world we live in.
Education influences the growth and development of a country. It enables one to be aware and strong enough to participate and socialize.
Consequently, girl-child education has witnessed a tremendous impact on the advanced societies of the world and Nigeria in particular.
The girl child's education is a serious issue that should not be treated lightly. Its impact on society is numerous. It has a track record of impact on child reproductive health, economic growth, values of democracy, national productivity, and innovation.
Subsequently, it is important to note that for girl child education to have continuous progress and increasing impact, there is an absolute need for cooperation between the home and the school.
The fact that a child spends more time at school than at home does not absolve parents of being role models for learning to their children, paying attention to what their children enjoy doing, practicing what their children learn in school, allocating quality time to read and study with their children, and connecting what their children learn in school to daily life.
It is important for parents to demonstrate to their kids that they are making an effort to learn new things, as this may inspire the kids to do the same and encourage them to follow in their footsteps.
Sirri Care Foundation was able to discuss these and many more with great feedback from listeners who asked questions and were provided with satisfactory answers.
